If you’re still on the fence on whether or not you want to experience more of what Rain World had to offer after finishing the base game, I can definitely say that, in my view, it’s worth giving it a try. It is a, frankly, almost ridiculous amount of dedication, passion and care that is very visible throughout the entirety of your playtime, and it’s always enjoyable to see. As part of the original Beta tester team from back when the More Slugcats expansion was intended to be only just a fanmade mod for the game, I cannot state just how much love has been packed into this product by the developers. Expedition mode, a new feature that boosts the replayability factor by a landslide by giving you randomly generated objectives to complete in order to obtain new unlocks and music Safari mode, where you can explore the more mundane side of the world by observing how creatures behave, and even being able to take control of them if so you’d choose new content for the sandbox and arena modes… There’s just too much to describe. Of course, there’s also a myriad of optional content on the side. 5 entirely new campaigns with differing objectives, all with unique gameplay aspects and sights to behold. The expansion also includes challenging one-time scenarios, a randomizer featuring complex quests to complete, and local co-op support! For players looking test their limits in Challenge Mode or players looking for a chill experience in Safari Mode, Rain World: Downpour features something new for every player!
